Environmentalists tell us that with every day that passes the pollution in our environment increases. Sharper Image air purifiers are ionic cleaners which use ions to attract the particles that are in the air – some experts argue that this is not effective because any disturbance in the room can redistribute the particles.

There are reports which suggest that the Sharper Image ionic breeze air purifier is not only ineffective but potentially harmful as they claim it pumps unacceptable levels of ozone into the air. Some experts say that while ozone gives protection in the upper atmosphere in the home it can cause lung problems when it rises beyond a certain level. Scientists who tested the product for Sharper Image tend to disagree, saying that while the product does produce some ozone it is well below the level of potential harm.

Some reviewers praise the Sharper Image ionic breeze air purifier saying that it does a good job of removing particles from the air, the fan parts are easy to clean and the unit is almost silent. This is particularly so with the Sharper Image midi silent air purifier which promises virtually silent operation in an average sized room and the changing of by product ozone to oxygen.
